REHEARSALS:

2017 Rehearsals have begun!

Thursdays - 7:00 Bliss Hall Band Room

Youngstown State University, Ohio

The 6th annual Holiday Concert of Giving was attended by more than 500 people who braved the snow and cold weather on Sunday, December 11.  While the band and chorus performed "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas", Mother Nature had already begun to give us a head-start on our wish.  Reports have just come in that despite the weather, this concert generated $3,061 for the 2nd Harvest Food Bank!  That makes about $21,260 for the Stambaugh concerts and when you add the pre-Stambaugh concerts before combining with the wonderful Stambaugh Chorus - the grand total is about $26,060.  a job well done by all!

We were honored to feature a euphonium solo, "O Holy Night" performed by Dr. Otis French, Director of Bands at the University of Mount Union in Alliance, Ohio.   A medley of Christmas carols in a minor key, "Minor Alterations" arranged by David Lovrien, was well received by the audience, much to the delight of the band members who love playing it.  The  concert concluded with the traditional finale by band and chorus, Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" with the audience rising and some adding their voices to this great piece .

None of this is possible with the support and warm reception of the audience.  It was our pleasure!   Thank you!
