I want to thank all of our followers for attending our 7th annual Holiday Concert Of Giving, Sunday December 17, 2017. And thank the YACCB for an outstanding performance once again on the stage of Stambaugh Auditorium.
Here are some interesting figures about this year and the past history of the concert. This year we raised $5, 077 from an estimated crowd of around 1,000-1,200 people. In the 7 years of doing this concert with the Stambaugh Chorus the total raised is $26,288, which the Second Harvest has been able to convert into 131,440 meals. If you add this total to the years when we either played the concert alone (2010 at the DeYor), and with the Fitch Jazz ensemble, between 1999 and 2007, we come up with approximately $32,000.
I had many people stop me on the way out of Stambaugh Auditorium after the concert and tell me this was the best one yet. My favorite comment was something like "I'm not in the Christmas spirit until after this concert." If we leave our audience feeling like that, then we have accomplished what we set out to do. I thank you. Mike Iberis is going to put a short article in the paper thanking the people of our valley for their generosity.
Thank you again for your fine performance and I look forward to our 2018 season.
